Bill Matthews is the OAPFF State Representative for
the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Bill has
served with Canton Professional Fire Fighters Local
249 for 30 years. He has provided service to the
citizens of Canton as a proud fire fighter while being
assigned to various fire trucks throughout the city.
Mr. Matthews has also served his fellow fire fighters
as a representative within his local union for over 16
years.
Every year that Canton Professional Fire Fighters
has participated in the annual Fill the Boot
campaign, Bill has stood out on street intersections
and collected for the cause. In 2008 his compassion
for this cause elevated him to the MDA
Coordinator position within his union and he still
serves in that position today.
In 2017 he took over in his current role as
the OAPFF State Representative for MDA
The OAPFF and MDA have enjoyed a truly amazing
relationship for many years and will continued to do
