On April 30, in conjunction with Ohio Fire Marshal Jeff Hussey and the Ohio Fire Academy, we would like to invite you to experience a day of hands-on training. We encourage you to do more than hear about what we do on an emergency scene, we are providing the opportunity for you to actually do it. We are inviting you to be a fire fighter for the day at our Fire Ops 101.
Fire Ops 101 is a unique opportunity to experience and perform the tasks that Ohio Fire Fighters encounter on emergency scenes every day. You will enter a burning building and extinguish a blaze in a controlled setting as well as search for a trapped person. All while being shadowed by a professional fire fighter for safety and to answer your questions. Other activities include using the “Jaws of Life” on a simulated accident, simulated medical responses and basic EMS skills that fire fighters use on a regular basis.
Fire Ops 101 is your opportunity to see why our collaboration is imperative to keep our communities safe, and so that you can learn, and experience, what fire fighters do every day.
